The Himalayan range is the world’s most powerful mountain. No other characteristic peaks of 8,000 meters (26,000 feet). In the Himalayas, there are 14 such peaks and hundreds of summits over 7,000 meters (23,000 feet). The mountain range extends along 2700 km (1700 miles).
The Himalaya is the beginning of many great rivers of the Indian subcontinent, including the Ganges and the Yamuna, which are inextricably linked with the local myths and legends. The Indus or Sindhu also on the plateau of the Himalayas and Tibet, as the Brahmaputra. (more…)
